The piece in short
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Nain of 250 × 250 cm. It covers approximately 6.25 m², or 8.2' × 8.2'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
What it is made of
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.
Where it fits
The rug is round. Large enough to hold a full seating group.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
On the colourway
It is catalogued under Weiß / beige. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
