Overview
A Nain from Iran, measuring 79 × 118 cm. It covers approximately 0.93 m², or 2.6' × 3.9'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Materials and construction
Pile material is given as 100% new wool, warp as 100% cotton. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. At this size it works as an entryway mat or a bedside rug.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
How it reads
The stated colourway is blue / Türkis. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
