Overview
Origin Iran, format 82 × 126 cm — a Nain made entirely by hand. The covered area is about 1.03 m² (2.7' × 4.1'). Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
What it is made of
Construction: 100% new wool in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. A small format, at home in a hallway, beside a bed, or in front of a bench.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
How it reads
Colour is recorded as blue / Türkis. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
