The piece in short
A Qom from Iran, measuring 203 × 203 cm. The covered area is about 4.12 m² (6.7' × 6.7'). Qom is known for very finely knotted rugs, often in silk.
Construction
Construction: 100% new wool in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. Construction method: hand-knotted.
Size and placement
The rug is round. Large enough to hold a full seating group.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as multicolour. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
