Overview
A Qom from Iran, measuring 70 × 250 cm. The covered area is about 1.75 m² (2.3' × 8.2'). Qom is known for very finely knotted rugs, often in silk.
Construction
The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Size and placement
The format suits the space in front of a sofa, a small dining table, or a study.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
How it reads
The stated colourway is multicolour. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
Age
Stated condition: ca. 50 Jahre.
