About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Nain of 123 × 200 cm. That is roughly 2.46 m² of floor, about 4' × 6.6'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Materials and construction
Construction: 100% Schurwolle mit Seide in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. The format suits the space in front of a sofa, a small dining table, or a study.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 700,000–799,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
On the colourway
It is catalogued under Weiß / beige. Silk takes light differently from wool, so the same area can look pale from one side and deep from the other.
