About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Nain of 140 × 218 cm. That is roughly 3.05 m² of floor, about 4.6' × 7.2'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Construction
The pile is 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, on a warp of 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 700,000–799,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as Weiß / beige. Silk takes light differently from wool, so the same area can look pale from one side and deep from the other.
