Overview
A Qom from Iran, measuring 205 × 136 cm. The covered area is about 2.79 m² (6.7' × 4.5'). Qom is known for very finely knotted rugs, often in silk.

Construction: wool, silk in the pile over a cotton foundation. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Weight is given as ap. 8 kg.

The rug is rectangular. A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.

The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
