Overview
A Tabriz from Iran, measuring 200 × 308 cm. That is roughly 6.16 m² of floor, about 6.6' × 10.1'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Construction
Construction: 100% Schurwolle mit Seide in the pile over a 100% silk foundation. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. Large enough to hold a full seating group.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 700,000–799,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
How it reads
The stated colourway is Braun / Gelb. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
