Overview
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Tabriz of 233 × 270 cm. The covered area is about 6.29 m² (7.6' × 8.9'). Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Materials and construction
Construction: 100% Schurwolle mit Seide in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as Weiß / beige. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
