Overview
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Tabriz of 296 × 403 cm. It covers approximately 11.93 m², or 9.7' × 13.2'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
Construction: 100% Schurwolle mit Seide in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. A format for large rooms, with space for an entire seating arrangement.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
