Overview
A Tabriz from Iran, measuring 300 × 380 cm. That is roughly 11.4 m² of floor, about 9.8' × 12.5'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Materials and construction
Construction: 100% Schurwolle mit Seide in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.

The rug is rectangular. A format for large rooms, with space for an entire seating arrangement.

The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
