Overview
This Tabriz comes from Iran and measures 80 × 252 cm. That is roughly 2.02 m² of floor, about 2.6' × 8.3'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
The pile is 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, on a warp of 100% cotton. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Where it fits
The format suits the space in front of a sofa, a small dining table, or a study.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
On the colourway
It is catalogued under Braun / Gelb. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
