Overview
This Tabriz comes from Iran and measures 85 × 120 cm. It covers approximately 1.02 m², or 2.8' × 3.9'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. Construction method: hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 7-10mm.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. A small format, at home in a hallway, beside a bed, or in front of a bench.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.
