About this rug
Hand-knotted in India: a Tabriz of 250 × 300 cm. The covered area is about 7.5 m² (8.2' × 9.8'). Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 7-10mm.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. A format for large rooms, with space for an entire seating arrangement.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
On the colourway
It is catalogued under Weiß / beige. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
