The piece in short
A Tabriz from Iran, measuring 203 × 303 cm. The covered area is about 6.15 m² (6.7' × 9.9'). Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Construction
The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Size and placement
Large enough to hold a full seating group.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². This knot density balances pattern definition against hard-wearing construction.
How it reads
It is catalogued under red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
