About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Tabriz of 282 × 209 cm. That is roughly 5.89 m² of floor, about 9.3' × 6.9'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
Pile material is given as wool, warp as cotton. It is entirely hand-knotted. Weight is given as ap. 16 kg.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. Large enough to hold a full seating group.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
How it reads
Colour is recorded as blue / Türkis. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
Condition
Stated condition: Neu.
