Ziegler Pakistani Rug 180 × 241 cm in Wool, hand-knotted

Overview

A Ziegler from Pakistan, measuring 180 × 241 cm. The covered area is about 4.34 m² (5.9' × 7.9'). Ziegler rugs pair Persian pattern forms with muted, faded palettes.

Materials and construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.

Format and use

The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.

On the knot count

The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.

On the colourway

Colour is recorded as multicolour. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.

Age and condition

Stated condition: new.
