The piece in short
Hand-knotted in India: a Isfahan of 198 × 297 cm. It covers approximately 5.88 m², or 6.5' × 9.7'. Isfahan has stood for exceptionally fine knotting for centuries.
What it is made of
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 7-10mm.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. Large enough to hold a full seating group.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
Colour and appearance
The stated colourway is multicolour. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
Age and condition
Stated condition: new.
