Overview
A Tabriz from Iran, measuring 256 × 344 cm. It covers approximately 8.81 m², or 8.4' × 11.3'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Materials and construction
Construction: 100% new wool in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. Construction method: hand-knotted.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. A large format for open-plan rooms or formal reception spaces.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as red and orange. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
