About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Kashan of 192 × 138 cm. It covers approximately 2.65 m², or 6.3' × 4.5'.
Construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. Construction method: hand-knotted. Pile height is given as approx. 8 mm. Weight is given as approx. 7 kg.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
On the colourway
The stated colourway is red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
Age
Stated age: contemporary, 0–20 years old. As a contemporary piece the pile is still even and largely unwalked.
