Overview
Origin Iran, format 312 × 200 cm — a Sarouk made entirely by hand. That is roughly 6.24 m² of floor, about 10.2' × 6.6'. Sarouk rugs are known for dense knotting and floral motifs.
Materials and construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as approx. 8 mm. Weight is given as approx. 18 kg.

The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as red and orange. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.

Stated age: contemporary, 0–20 years old. Being recent, the pile shows little wear and holds its full height.
