Overview
A Nain from Iran, measuring 200 × 300 cm. That is roughly 6 m² of floor, about 6.6' × 9.8'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Materials and construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. Large enough to hold a full seating group.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
How it reads
The stated colourway is Weiß / beige. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
